The safety of our Being Girls Club members is our primary concern. With that in mind, we will only ever recommend the workshops are delivered by adults who have relevant DBS checks and have been recruited using Safer Recruitment guidance.
To carry out a safer recruitment process, you must:
Inform candidates of your commitment to safeguarding those in your care.
Carefully plan your recruitment process timeline. This will ensure that you have enough time to thoroughly vet each candidate.
Detail that applicants will have to undergo strict vetting procedures before appointment. You must make reference on your job advert of all the checks you will carry out
Carry out pre-employment checks. This includes DBS checks, qualification checks, reference checks and identity checks.
Ensure staff members are appropriately trained for their duties.
All schools will hold their own safeguarding policy and this must be adhered by all adults, including volunteers, that become part of the delivery process of the Being Girls Club. Finding appropriate adults to run the Being Girls Club is the responsibility of the host school.
